When posting information about a LOST pet on LAFPOLI

Please email us a CLEAR photograph of your lost or found pet and be sure to include the following:

• Name of pet
• Breed
• YOUR phone number and email
• Date pet went missing
• Location pet went missing
• Is your pet skittish? Friendly? Aggressive?
• Any distinguished markings?
• Can your pet be enticed by any type of food or toy or "phrase"?

This information is crucial to help bring your pet home. We CAN HELP! LAFPOLI will gladly design a flyer for you

If you have access to Facebook You can post photos & descriptive details of your lost pet or the pet you found right now on our facebook page. This information will be shared throughout our network and seen immediately by all of our contacts.

When posting information about a FOUND pet on LAFPOLI

*If you find a pet, please include as much information about the pet. Let us know

• WHERE you found the pet
• WHEN you found the pet (Date)
• Does it have a collar?

*We do however, strongly suggest, that you leave out a specific detail about the pet you found, that only the owner would know. (For example, if the dog has a collar--leave out the color of it.) When someone calls to claim the pet ask them to bring a photo of their pet, to prove that it is indeed theirs.

Once you've submitted your pet with LAFPOLI, the information you provided will be spread throughout the LAFPOLI  network.  Be sure to visit our galleries for your pet as new animals are added each day.  We will also be checking our database for a match and will contact you with possible leads as they surface.

After submitting your information to us, you need to create a flier for your lost or found pet. You can create a flier on your own or LAFPOLI will create one for you FOR FREE. You will then need to put them everywhere:

• Local supermarkets
• High-traffic areas
• Telephone poles
• Pet Stores
• Train Stations
• Local Long Island Animal shelters (see list)
• Local Long Island Animal Hospitals (see list)
  • Your pet can travel further than you think, so be sure to contact all animal shelters and animal hospitals in surrounding neighborhoods.
